Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actor and singer. She is born in 1980 and is a Michigan native born and fostered by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her family ancestry includes Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen discovered her talents in the world of entertainment in her early years. She was able to land her first acting role in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency before she turned 13; she later appeared on television commercials and newspaper ads. Now, Bell also begins private acting lessons. Bell made an appearance in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 as an uncredited actor. Bell studied at Shrine Catholic High School where she was involved in music as well as drama. In her school's production of The Wizard of Oz, Bell won the role of Dorothy. After graduating, Bell relocated to New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she studied musical theater. Bell quit the school in 2001, when she was cast in the role Becky to play Tom Sawyer. The same year, she had her first credit debut with Pootie Tang (2001), but her scene was cut and her appearance exists only in the credit sequence. Bell appeared alongside Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson, and the Broadway production of The Crucible in 2002.
